# SMS Inbox

> Receive SMS OTP codes and messages during tests with a leased phone number.

QA.tech can lease a phone number for a test so the agent can receive SMS messages such as one-time passwords. Attach an **SMS Phone Number** [config](/core-concepts/configs) to the test; a number is assigned when the test runs.

## What you get

| Detail | Behavior |
| :- | :- |
| Config type | SMS Phone Number |
| Number assignment | Leased automatically when the test runs (a different number may be used each run) |
| Country | Required on the config. Only **Sweden** (`SE`) is supported today |
| Agent use | Phone-number signup/login or any step that sends an SMS OTP |

## Setup

1. Go to **Project Settings → Configs**.
2. Add an **SMS Phone Number** config and set the country.
3. Attach the config to the test under Settings.
4. In the goal or steps, describe waiting for the SMS (for example, "Enter the verification code sent by SMS").

The agent reads the leased number from the config and uses the SMS inbox during the run. You do not paste a fixed number into the test steps unless you intentionally need a stable value for allowlisting.
