Slack

Connect Slack to receive test run updates in the channels your team already uses, and optionally let the AI assistant read and post in public channels.

Getting Started

1

Connect Your Workspace

Navigate to Settings → Integrations. Select Slack and connect your workspace.
2

Choose a Channel

Select the public channel that should receive test run notifications. This is also the default channel chat uses when you do not name one.
3

Configure Notifications

Choose when QA.tech should send updates for the project or override the channel for an individual run.
See Notifications for notification options and API details.

Slack Tools in Chat

Chat tools are off by default. Turn on Enable Slack Tools in Chat on the same Slack integration page to let the assistant list public channels, read messages (including thread replies), and post rich messages with images or files. The assistant can only read and post in public channels. Private channels and DMs are not supported with the current Slack app permissions. Reading messages needs the channels:history bot scope (and channels:join so the app can enter a public channel it is not already in). Sharing screenshots and files needs files:write. If Slack was connected before those scopes were added, reconnect Slack on the same page so the workspace can grant them. Once enabled, you can ask things like:
  • “After this PR merges, post a summary to Slack”
  • “What did people reply to the last Slack message?”
  • “Read the latest messages in #engineering”
  • “Post this screenshot to Slack with a short summary”
To have the post-merge agent send a Slack update automatically, enable Slack tools in chat and mention Slack in that project’s post-merge prompt.
