Web tests can copy a value in one test and paste it in a later test when both share the same browser session through a Resume From dependency.

When to use clipboard

Use clipboard when:

Copying and pasting within the same browser session chain
Transferring a short value (verification code, invite link text) between sequential tests that resume the same session

Example

Test A logs in and copies a verification code to the clipboard.
Test B uses a Resume From dependency on Test A.
Test B pastes the verification code. The same browser session restores the clipboard automatically.

Clipboard vs output values

For IDs, URLs, or data that must cross applications or separate browser sessions, use output values with a Wait For dependency instead. Clipboard does not travel across sessions. See Test Dependencies for the full comparison and multi-user patterns.
